Claire Penney
I am an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist and ADHD Nurse with over nine years of expertise in mental health, neurodevelopmental assessments, and service development. Throughout my career, I have specialised in conducting comprehensive ADHD assessments, gathering detailed information through developmental histories, school observations, and multidisciplinary discussions to support accurate diagnoses.
As a Clinical Lead for the NHS in North Yorkshire, I have led teams in high-pressure environments, delivering patient-centred care and working closely with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people. I have a strong background in crisis management, biopsychosocial assessments, and safeguarding, ensuring that complex cases are managed effectively with collaborative, multi-agency plans.
I am passionate about supporting individuals and families throughout the diagnostic process, providing clear guidance and therapeutic interventions tailored to their needs. I also enjoy mentoring and training other healthcare professionals, including delivering risk management and CAMHS training to GPs and NHS 111 staff.
With a BSc Honours in Mental Health Nursing and a Level 7 Clinical Leadership qualification, I combine my strategic leadership skills with hands-on clinical expertise, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for individuals with ADHD.
