Meet Our Clinical Lead

John Donnelly

ADHD Certify’s Clinical Lead

Advanced Practitioner

Bsc-Professional Studies | Prescriber (NMP) | Advanced Practice Diagnostics (ANP-D) | ADOS-2 | DISCO TRAINED

I walk, talk, and breathe a love for enhancing the quality of my patients’ lives, particularly in the realm of ADHD and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). For more than three decades, I’ve served as a mental health clinician within the NHS, operating at both foundation trust and community levels.

Being deeply involved in clinical decision-making processes, I’ve evaluated numerous children and adults for ADHD and ASD. Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of leading exceptional teams of healthcare professionals who share my dedication.

My passion for learning and continuous improvement echoes in every interaction I have, be it with colleagues or patients. In 2016, I attained degree-level certification in prescribing, advanced assessment, and diagnostics, specialising in ADHD and ASD.

One significant milestone was my tenure as the Clinical Lead for Neuro Pathways services in Glasgow. In this role, I was solely responsible for completely redesigning the clinical pathways for Glasgow CAMHS, thereby shaping the landscape of child and adolescent mental health services.

With nearly a decade of experience as a prescribing clinician, I’ve been at the forefront of initiating, adjusting, and monitoring ADHD medications, always striving for the best outcomes for my patients. Feedback is invaluable to me, and I have been told by my colleagues and patients that I possess a unique ability to establish rapport with patients and their families, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable expressing their needs and concerns.

Currently, I hold the position of Clinical Lead within ADHD Certify. In this capacity, I not only directly assess patients but also oversee other clinicians to uphold the rigorous standards of ADHD Certify. Continuously auditing our processes, I ensure that our patients receive nothing short of optimal care and service experience.
