lisa smith - adhd certify
I am a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with a BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care, advanced clinical skills training, and certification as an Independent Nurse Prescriber. I am also trained in the CHA-PAS assessment framework, bringing a high level of clinical competence and specialist knowledge to my practice.

Since qualifying as a nurse in 2008, I have developed a broad and in-depth understanding of neurodevelopmental care across the lifespan. I spent 12 years working in an NHS multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people with learning disabilities. During this time, I conducted ADHD assessments, worked closely with families and schools, and developed tailored behaviour support plans to promote positive outcomes.

From 2022 to 2025, I worked within an NHS Adult ADHD service, where I carried out diagnostic assessments, initiated treatment pathways, prescribed medication, and conducted annual reviews.

I currently work in a CAMHS neurodevelopmental team as a Nurse Prescriber, where I assess and manage neurodevelopmental conditions in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on ADHD and autism.

I am passionate about delivering person-centred, evidence-based care that empowers individuals and their families. I take a collaborative and compassionate approach, tailoring interventions to meet each person’s unique needs. I am also committed to continuous professional development and regularly attend specialist training and conferences to enhance my clinical skills and knowledge.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, road biking, baking, and attending music festivals. I also value spending quality time with family and friends and strive to maintain a healthy work–life balance.
