At ADHD Certify, we understand the importance of managing your ADHD medication costs effectively. When it comes to your medication, there are two separate expenses to consider:

Your Medication Review Appointments

Pre assessment screening

As part of our commitment to your care, it is necessary for you to undergo regular Medication Review appointments in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

These appointments, scheduled approximately every two to three weeks, are vital for ensuring that your medication is being used appropriately and is delivering the desired response. They also give us the opportunity to adjust your dosage or consider changing your medication based on your individual needs.

On average, it takes about 4-6 Medication Review appointments (totaling 8-12 weeks) for you to establish the most optimal dose of medication. Please note that these appointments are conducted by our specialised ADHD clinicians and come with associated costs. Without these reviews, we are unable to prescribe your ADHD medication.

Once you are established on your medication, the frequency of your Medication Review appointments will decrease to every six months, unless you encounter any issues with your medication.

Medication Review Appointment Costs:

Adult Medication Review Appointment: £225 per appointment (Note: this does not include the cost and supply of the medication – see below for more information)

Children Medication Review Appointment: £325 per appointment (Note: this does not include the cost and supply of the medication – see below for more information).

Important Note:

Before your medication review appointment, we will send you a medication review form that must be completed 24 hours before your appointment.

Failure to do so may result in you being unable to continue your medication.

Your Medication Cost

The second aspect of your medication expenses is the actual cost of your medication. This cost is determined by various factors, including manufacturer costs and pharmacy charges.

ADHD medications are produced by a limited number of manufacturers, each with their own pricing structures. At ADHD Certify, we’ve teamed up with a trusted partner pharmacy to make things easier and more affordable for you. You can feel confident knowing your health and well-being are our top priority, giving you one less thing to worry about. Your total medication cost invoice will include the manufacturer’s cost of the medication, pharmacy charges, and courier fees.

On average, the monthly cost of ADHD medication falls within the range of £100 to £200, depending on the manufacturer’s pricing.

Rest assured, we will ensure that your medication is delivered conveniently to your doorstep by courier.

At ADHD Certify, we understand the importance of managing your ADHD medication costs effectively. When it comes to your medication, there are two separate expenses to consider:

Shared Care Agreement

A Shared Care Agreement is a formal arrangement between us as your ADHD specialist service and your GP. It allows your GP to prescribe your ADHD medication on a normal NHS prescription, following our initial stabilisation of your medication regimen.

Once stabilised on your medication, through our Medication Review Appointments (See above), we’ll take the necessary steps to ensure ongoing access to your medication. This involves initiating a Shared Care Agreement between us and your GP.

Once stabilised on your medication, we’ll write to your GP to provide an explanation of your treatment journey with us and request their acceptance of a Shared Care Agreement. This agreement outlines the responsibilities of both parties in managing your ADHD medication.

It’s important to note that your GP has the legal right to refuse acceptance of a Shared Care Agreement. This refusal may stem from various reasons, including limitations within their GP contract with the NHS. GP’s are legally entitled to refuse shared care agreements from any specialist whether that be NHS Specialists or Private Specialists.

If your GP declines the Shared Care Agreement, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Your personal Clinician will continue to provide your medication privately on a monthly basis, ensuring you have uninterrupted access to the treatment you need.
